An easy to use cassette test using whole blood, plasma or serum for detecting cardiac problems - Troponin T, MCBK and myoglobin. Pack includes whole blood finger prick tester. Immunoassay technology. FDA Approved, more than 99% accurate.
Of 1.5 million reported cases of acute myocardial infraction (MI) approximately 500,000 deaths occurred, making MI the leading cause of death. After 6 hours of MI onset, the damage to the cardiac muscle is irreversible and permanent. This illustrates that early and accurate diagnosis of MI is essential.
Myoglobin (MB) has long been recognized as the earliest biochemical marker for the diagnosis of MI. Myoglobin (approximately 17,500 MW) is small enough to pass easily into circulation upon cardiac injury; elevated levels are often present within 2 hours post MI. Serum Myoglobin peaks at approximately 6 -9 hours, but is cleared from circulation rapidly and returns to normal within 24-36 hours. MB is also abundant in both cardiac and skeletal muscles. Therefore, it should be used with professional judgement.
