Heroin Specific (6-AM) Test Strip
6-AM is a heroin specific metabolite that occurs after the first-pass metabolism of heroin, which itself has very short half-life in its original form.
Screening for 6-AM is useful, as the results aren’t affected by other opiates in the donor’s sample, eliminating false positives and cross-reactivity that can sometimes cloud the water when an opiate screening result is non-negative.
This test is a simple ‘dip and read’ drug screen, using a sample of urine. Test results should be read at 5 minutes, although negative results can be read as soon as a Test line forms. A product insert is included with every purchase, providing key information such as cut-off levels, cross-reactivity and directions for use.
