About Alcohol Saliva Testing
Alcohol saliva testing provides a rapid, non‑invasive method for detecting recent alcohol consumption. Saliva alcohol levels correlate closely with blood alcohol concentration, making oral fluid a practical matrix for on‑site screening. Saliva alcohol tests are commonly used where quick screening decisions are needed, while confirmatory analysis may be required for legally defensible results.
What does the Alcohol Rapid Test Strip detect?
It detects ethyl alcohol in saliva within a semi‑quantitative range of 0.02% to 0.30%.
Who is this test suitable for?
It is intended for professional use in workplaces, occupational health services and other controlled testing environments.
How long does it take to get a result?
Results are read at 2 minutes after saliva application.
Does this test replace a breathalyser or laboratory test?
No. It is a screening tool only. Positive results should be followed up with confirmatory testing where required.
Is any equipment required?
No equipment is needed. The test is fully self‑contained.
Can food or drink affect results?
Yes. Donors should not eat, drink or smoke for at least 15 minutes before testing to avoid interference.
