What does the On Call® GK monitoring system measure?
The system measures blood glucose and blood β‑ketone levels using compatible test strips and a single dual‑function meter. These measurements support routine metabolic and wellness monitoring.
Why is it useful to measure both glucose and ketones?
Monitoring both glucose and ketones provides broader insight into metabolic status. While glucose reflects blood sugar control, ketone measurement helps identify elevated ketone levels that may be relevant during illness, fasting or metabolic imbalance.
Is this system diagnostic of diabetes or ketoacidosis?
No. The On Call® GK system provides monitoring results only and is not diagnostic. Results should always be interpreted alongside clinical assessment and professional medical guidance.
What sample type is required for testing?
The system uses capillary whole blood, obtained via a finger‑prick sample, in combination with the appropriate glucose or ketone test strip.
Can the same meter be used for both glucose and ketone testing?
Yes. The On Call® GK meter is designed for dual use. It automatically recognises whether a glucose or ketone test strip has been inserted and performs the corresponding measurement.
Who is the On Call® GK system intended for?
The system is intended for professional use and supervised wellness monitoring in clinical, occupational health or supported self‑monitoring settings. It should be used as part of a broader health management approach.
