Insert mouthpiece into the instrument.

Turn on the device

Press the power button to turn on the device. While the fuel cell is preparing to test, the alcometer starts a countdown which takes approximately 30 seconds.

Blow steadily into the mouthpiece

When you hear a beep and the text 'bLo' is deplayed, please blow steadily into the mouthpiece until you hear the beep sound again. Stop blowing. The Alcometer will turn itself off after 20 seconds. If you do not blow.

Result is displayed

A circling line is displayed for 3-22 seconds while the Alcometer produces the results (mg/l BrAC). When the result is displayed, it will remain on the screen for 20 seconds.

Read the results

If the test result is over 0.25mg/l, the 'Warn' light will illuminate and the Alcometer will produce a bleep. If you press the power switch when the Green or Red LED is off, the unit goes back to countdown stage for another test. Separate any further testing by at least 2 minutes to maintain accuracy.
