About PSA testing
PSA testing is widely used as a screening and monitoring tool in prostate health assessment. While elevated PSA levels may indicate prostate cancer risk, further diagnostic investigations are required for confirmation.
What does the PSA Rapid Test Cassette measure?
The test detects prostate‑specific antigen (PSA) in whole blood, serum or plasma. PSA is a protein produced by prostate tissue and is commonly used as a biomarker in prostate health assessment.
How is PSA testing used clinically?
PSA testing is used as a screening and monitoring tool to support assessment of prostate health. Elevated PSA levels may be associated with prostate cancer, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) or prostatitis.
Is an elevated PSA result diagnostic of prostate cancer?
No. Elevated PSA levels are not specific to prostate cancer. Results should always be interpreted alongside clinical findings, patient history and, where appropriate, further diagnostic investigations.
What sample types can be used with this test?
The PSA Rapid Test Cassette can be used with whole blood, serum or plasma, providing flexibility for use in professional healthcare settings.
Can this test be used as a standalone diagnostic tool?
No. The PSA Rapid Test Cassette provides a screening result only and should not be used in isolation to make diagnostic or treatment decisions.
Who is this test intended for?
The PSA Rapid Test Cassette is intended for professional use only in clinical, urology and screening environments as part of a structured prostate health assessment pathway.
