How to read SureSwab Rapid test results

At SureScreen Diagnostics, we understand the importance of accurate, easy-to-read test results – especially when time and clarity matter most. This guide walks you through how to correctly interpret the results of your SureSwab Rapid drug test.

Understanding your SureSwab Rapid test

The SureSwab Rapid test is designed to provide quick and reliable drug screening results using an easy-to-interpret results window. Each panel corresponds to a different drug group, clearly labelled (e.g. AMP for Amphetamines, THC for Cannabis).

Step-by-step: reading your results

  1. Check the Control Line (C Line) first

Before interpreting any drug results, always check the Control Line (C). This line confirms that the test is valid and functioning correctly.

  • Line present at C → Test is valid
  • No line at C → Test is invalid. Do not interpret results. Dispose and retest

If there’s no line at the Control (C) position, the test is not working and should be repeated with a new test.

  1. Look at the Test Line (T Line) for each panel

Each drug panel has its own T (Test) line, labelled by position (T1, T2, T3) and drug abbreviation (e.g. BZO, COC, THC).

Interpret the test lines using the following rules:

Negative result

  • A line is visible next to the test line (even if faint)
  • Indicates no drug detected above the cut-off level

Non-negative result

  • No line appears at the test line position
  • Indicates the presence of a drug above the cut-off level

Faint line? Still negative

  • Even if the T line is faint or partial, this is still a negative result
  • Line intensity does not affect interpretation

Quick reference guide

Result Control Line (C) Test Line (T) Interpretation
✅Valid negative Visible Visible (even faint) Drug not detected
❌Non-negative Visible No line Drug detected
⚠️Invalid No line Any Test not valid – retest required

Important reminders

  • Always read results within the time window stated in the test instructions. Results read too early or too late may not be accurate.
  • Do not interpret partial or discoloured test lines as positive. Any visible line, regardless of intensity, is a negative.
  • If you are unsure, take a clear photo and contact your SureScreen Diagnostics’ account manager for further guidance.
